Sample Model Number Tags
Model numbers can be made up of numbers (1005400, for example) or a combination of letters and numbers (LAT1000AAE). The model number will most likely appear on either a paper sticker or a metal plate. Your appliance's model number tag may look similar to the sample model number tags shown here (model number highlighted in yellow):
Introducing the Whirlpool Timer Assembly, a genuine OEM part, meticulously designed to operate with specific models, ensuring compatibility and efficiency. Key to managing electrical components and the lengths of your dryer cycles, this 60 hertz timer maintains the smooth operation of your appliance. Please remember, before installing this part, to disconnect the dryer from its power source. Wearing work gloves during this procedure could offer significant protection. Although all parts may appear similar, minute variations in size and shape are normal. Always double-check that the part aligns well with your specific model before finalizing your order.
How Buying OEM Parts Can Save You Time and Money
Why buy the real thing?
OEM stands for Original Equipment Manufacturer. Simply put, this means that the company who made your appliance is also supplying the replacement part for it.

My dryer burner does not always get hot. If I push up on the timer the dryer gets hot. Will replacing the timer fix this problem?
For model number Egd4400wq0
Hello Ron,
Thanks for your question. Prior to replacing the timer, you may wish to test a few other parts for continuity with a multi-meter, such as the thermal cutoff, thermal fuse, the gas valves, the internal-bias thermostat, the igniter, the flame sensor, and the high limit thermostat.
If those parts are all showing continuity, consider replacing the timer at that point.
I hope this helps.
