This halogen light bulb is a type of lamp that uses a halogen gas mixture for better lighting quality and longevity. It is an authentic OEM replacement bulb designed for use in ovens and ranges. It is used to illuminate the oven cavity. Over time, the filament inside the bulb can wear out and break, causing the lamp to fail. A faulty socket connection can also cause the bulb to lose electrical contact and stop working. If your oven light is faulty, you will have difficulty seeing and monitoring the food throughout the cooking process. Locate the bulb housing inside the oven cavity and carefully remove the bulb from the socket. Place your new bulb into the socket and ensure the bulb housing is secure. Note that each light bulb is sold individually.

It worked perfectly
This bulb worked great and was shipped promptly rather than Kitchenaid who sent me the incorrect bulbs at a higher price.

A little challenging for an old lady.
I ordered three oven bulbs in two orders. They came fat and in good condition. They were only slightly harder than I expected to put in (due to my own inflexibiity), but the first went in fine, the second was a little harder, since it was a lower oven, and the third, on the right side of the bottom oven, was too much of a challenge and I broke off the prongs. Now I probably need a part I can't handle by myself, but I at least have one light in that oven.

Replace Halogen Bulb
Used flat tip screw driver to pry front clip holding glass cover out of position. Pulled out dead bulb and pushed in new one. Slid clip back on glass cover and slid back into place. Simple. .

Oven lights out
There are two lights in this model oven. The glass will open by pulling outward on the near end. Since these are halogen bulbs I used a clean cloth to hold the bulb while replacing. Bulbs are expensive especially when purchased from Kitchen Aid dealer. I got two bulbs from PartsSelect delivered in two days for considerably less.
Removed a screw and clip to remove the lens and replaced bulb. Then replaced clip and screw. Done.

Microwave light-bulb went out
First, I removed the grill from the top of the microwave by removing 3 screws and then by sliding it out. It was a bit tricky, but you have to rotate it under so the grill comes out from behind the display. Next, I removed the bottom grill by removing 4 screws. This one removed easily. Then, I removed 2 more screws that were under
... Read more the bottom grill and was able to start sliding out the microwave unit. I was only able to pull the microwave half way out because some wires were stopping me from pulling it out more. I removed the big square piece of insulation and had enough room to get to the light assembly. I removed the retaining clips by pushing the right side of the clips to the little opening in the middle on the right hand side. Then I was able to remove the light bulb and replace with the new one.

How do i replace light bulb in microwave. Is the bulb the same as the ones in the oven?
For model number KEMC307KBL0
Hi Irene,
Thank you for your question. There is some information that a customer provided on how he installed the part that you may find useful, "First, I removed the grill from the top of the microwave by removing 3 screws and then by sliding it out. It was a bit tricky, but you have to rotate it under so the grill comes out from behind the display. Next, I removed the bottom grill by removing 4 screws. This one removed easily. I removed the retaining clips by pushing the right side of the clips to the little opening in the middle on the right hand side. Then I was able to remove the light bulb and replace with the new one." I hope this helps. Thank you and have a great day!

To replace bulb in ceiling of microwave, is it really necessary to take microwave apart?
For model number KEMC307KBL0
Hello Irene, thank you for your inquiry. Yes, the only way to access the inner light bulb on the microwave is to remove the outer cabinet part and access the light assembly from there. Good luck with your repair!
