Sample Model Number Tags
Model numbers can be made up of numbers (1005400, for example) or a combination of letters and numbers (LAT1000AAE). The model number will most likely appear on either a paper sticker or a metal plate. Your appliance's model number tag may look similar to the sample model number tags shown here (model number highlighted in yellow):
NOTE: Does not have threaded mounting holes. The timer controls most of the operations of the washer: water level, tub filling and emptying, length of cycles, and cycle setting sequences.
How Buying OEM Parts Can Save You Time and Money
Why buy the real thing?
OEM stands for Original Equipment Manufacturer. Simply put, this means that the company who made your appliance is also supplying the replacement part for it.

Easy repair.
My old washing machine had a switch problem - one choice on type of load didn't work. We thought it was time for a new washer/dryer set and shopped around. The prices stunned us. The electronics reportedly had constant problems per the reviews. My handy dandy husband went online, found a new switch. It arrived quickly and he easily installed it that afternoon (he is a good handyman!) I figure I should now be able to spend the $2000 we saved. He doesn't see it that way... Good service. Good packaging. Thanks.

Washer stopped in the middle of cycle
This was a very easy repair, it was obvious what the problem was based on the symptoms. The one mistake I made was not ordering the part of this site at the beginning. I ordered the part from a competitor and the part was defective so I had to return it which was painful. I placed a order withhis sitet the part came in and the washer is

My washing machine would randomly stop in the middle of a cycle. It washed, but wouldn't rinse ... or I would start it and the water would flow 5 minutes later.
We removed the front control panel by removing four screws (two in the front, two in the back) and lifting it off the machine. The timer was then evident. Upon examining the new part, it was clear that this was a "plug in". We removed the two screws that held the timer in place, unplugged the old one, plugged in the new one, replaced t

We would not have been inclined ordinarily to fix these types of things ourselves. It was a terrific experience. It saved us money, and the service was fantastic. I sent in my problem on a Thursday, and by Friday night, the machine was working again!
Thank you!

Does this timer assembly including the metal shaft that the knob screws onto? In mine, the shaft is spinning freely. Do I need a whole new timer assembly, or could replacing the shaft be a cheaper fix? Is that part available?
(would you repair this 20 year old washer if the part is >$200?)
For model number Whirlpool GSQ9611KQ0
Hi Chris, thank you for your inquiry. The correct part number for your model is PS11742075, the one that you have attached to this email is not for your model number. Yes the shaft comes with the timer, it is not sold separately. By fixing this washer you just might get another 20 years out of it :). We hope this helps.
