How Buying OEM Parts Can Save You Time and Money
Why buy the real thing?
OEM stands for Original Equipment Manufacturer. Simply put, this means that the company who made your appliance is also supplying the replacement part for it.
Keep searches simple. Use keywords, e.g. "leaking", "pump", "broken" or "fit".

Spring latch snapped off making bowl unstable and unless hand stabilized wobbled too much to use.
SO SIMPLE!!!!! Using a regular screwdriver, remove the remains of the Spring Latch. Place new one over holes and screw new one in place using the currently used screws. May wash off screws first if caked with gunk. OMG!!! TOOOO easy and saved me from throwing out a very terrific 40 year old PRO LINE KITCHEN AID MIXER!! To replace it would

After 40 years, the spring latch that holds the bowl in place broke from metal fatigue. I make bread for a Farmers Market and HAD to have that part. The part arrived in less than 18 hours!!!!
I screwed the two screws into the place of original holes and Voila! it was repaired.

Spring latch broke (it is 30 years old)
checked online for the part name, called and ordered the spring latch. It came in a couple days and works fine. Many thanks.
Take off the old one, put on the new one--start kneadin' bread. Finding a screw driver was the hard part.

Spring latch on Kitchenaid broke
Two flat head screws removed, swapped out the latch, and replaced. The entire repair took about two minutes. Price was acceptable given the worth of the mixer.
