I am determined that the start relay I need for my refrigerator is manufacturers part number WF23048855. My problem is the refrigerator worked when I got it two weeks ago from my friend and it ran fine for two weeks there is no capacitor plugged into the start relay, the description says this part number is combination. It has slots for a capacitor to plug in. It didn’t have one when I got it. Does it need one or will it run without one? If so, what is the part number?
For model number ED5FHEXTS00
Hi George, thank you for reaching out. Yes, your model requires the capacitor to be plugged to the start relay. The part number for the capacitor is PS11757023. It provides the voltage or energy current required to start the compressor and keep it running. It allows the compressor in your appliance to easily cycle on and off. We hope this information is useful!
Hello. The compressor on my Whirlpool refrigerator was not starting and the fridge and freezer were warning up. If i hit the back of the refrigerator with my hand hard the compressor would start and the refrigerator would run fine for a few days. After reading your website i replaced the starter relay and the capacitor. The unit ran fine for about a week. Now we are back to compressor will not sometimes but does then i hit it. Any ideas on the next part to replace? Thanks mark

Hello Mark, thank you for inquiring. You may want to consider replacing the Condenser Fan Motor part number PS1957416 for your model to fix this. You may also want to consider replacing the Thermostat part number PS11740364. I hope this helps and good luck with your repair!
