The freezer would not stay cold enough to freeze

refrigerator not always cooling
After discovering I could give the thermostat box a rap with my hand and get it to start the fridge I got online at your site and found others were doing the same, before replacing the thermostat. I ordered the part from you and received it the next day! I used a long neck nut driver to remove the one screw holding the thermo box in place

I unwound the temp sensor wire and tried to shape it like the old one before installing(making this sensor fit like the old one takes a little juggling). Then hooked the wires on the new unit that you sent and the fridge started working again flawlessly. Big savings!

Removed 1/4 screw from housing to access thermostat. removed plastic tubing and three wires, reassembled and it works fine. Repair took 12 minutes

Freezer would not maintain cold temperature.
First, pulled knob off ot thermostat. Then, lowered control panel housing thermostat by unscrewing one screw. Removed old thermostat after taking off three wires. Replaced with new thermostat, secured wires, and screwed control panel to top of refrigerator. That's all it took. Challenge was finding the nut driver to loosen screw.

Faulty thermostat
My refrigerator is approximately seven years old (date of manufacture: 2001). I had come home twice in the last month to find that it had not been running for several hours (ice melted, milk spoiled, etc.) but it would start running again if I twisted the thermostat knob. So, I ordered a new thermostat. First I removed the 1/4" hex scr
... Read moreew that held the plastic thermostat housing in place (it screws up into the top of the refrigerator compartment). Then I removed the plastic thermostat knob and slid the old thermostat out of the housing. I then disconnected the wires one-by-one from the old thermostat and connected them to the new one so I could be certain they were all connected correctly. Finally, I pulled the plastic sheathing off the old sensor wire, slid it onto the new one and popped the wire back into place. Slide the thermostat back into the housing, screw the housing back into the top of the refrigerator compartment, replace the plastic thermostat knob, and the job is done.

Have to turn the temp control thermostat knob back to 0 then turn back to 4 , then ref will start turning cold again.

Hello Larry, thank you for your question. The temperature control thermostat, PartSelect Number: PS11739602, for that unit is on the ceiling of the fridge behind the control knob where you set the temperature in the fridge. I hope this helps.

Hi. Refrigerator fan is working constantly but freezer and fridge are too warm. Freezer is not freezing anything and refrigerator is warm. Will this part fix my problem?

Hello David, Thank you for the question. We suggest testing the Temperature Control Thermostat, the Capacitor and Start-Device Combination on the compressor with a multi meter to check for continuity. We hope this helps.
The refrigerator is cooling and will run for what seems a normal period of time. When it shuts off, after about 5 to 10 seconds it will turn on again. After turning on, it will run for about 10 to 15 seconds and then shut off. It will cycle like this for 10 or more minutes before finally turning off and staying off for a normal period of time. Is this the temperature thermostat?

HELLO
This refrigerator freezer build ice on the bottom of drain pan inside the freezer I check the drain and it is fine also I did replace defrost timer and defrost thermostat and end up with same outcome.
right now Im not sure why it is happening

Since you have already replaced the defrost timer and the thermostat and that does not resolve the problem, we would recommend checking the defrost heater, part number PS11740357, to solve the issue. It melts frost from the evaporator fins during the automatic defrost cycle. We hope this helps, good luck with this repair!
Purchased WP2258450 but still having trouble with it freezer. Still not turning on all the time. Stuff melting. The old start relay I took off did rattled. So I knew it had to be bad. I unplug, waited awhile plugged back in and it all came back on. What else is could be causing it not to come back on.

Use a condenser coil brush and vacuum to clean them. The compressor overload and start relay for your model is part number PS11742479. We hope this sorts out your problem!
