Water valve repair on our refrigerator
There was panic at our house when the Ice Maker in our refrigerator stopped making ice. Took the hose off the ice maker and found that there was no water. Didn't realize there was a water valve in the bottom of the refrigerator that controlled the ice maker's water supply. Replaced it with the new part and all is right with the world again. The Wife has Ice again!

This is a top freezer Whirlpool fridge made for Kenmore. My question is about water valves for the ice maker water dispenser, as this model has both. I see the partial water valve at the the bottom back, one supply in from source and one line out going up into the fridge cabinet, like number 241803701. My question, is there another water valve inside that this feeds, as your diagram for this fridge model shows it also, wp20188785. So does this fridge have two valves inline, or is it one or the other and then base in inspection. Bottom line, if wanting to replace the water valve, is there only the one that i see exposed at the bottom that takes the feed line from the house?
For model number 10671202101
Hello Ron, thank you for contacting us. Yes, your model does have 2 water valves. This is the secondary dual water inlet valve for ice maker and dispenser PS11739128. Also the ice maker has a solenoid in the motor, this controls the water flow to the ice maker to make sure it doesn't over fill. If this fails the ice maker will also not fill up with water or make it. Hope this helps!
Water is going to ice maker but not the tap for filling a glass up located on the inside of the fridge.

Hello Orvus, Thank you for contacting us. I suggest checking the following parts: PS11738948 Micro Switch, PS11730901 Water Tube Kit, PS11722139 Water Filter, and PS11755669 Water Inlet Valve. Good luck with your repair!

Do i need anything extra to connect the lines?
For model number 10672102100
Hi John,
Thank you for your inquiry. You should not need anything extra to install the line. If your old water tubing has brass nuts at the end, then all you would have to do is cut those brass nuts off and you can install the tubing that you have already into this water valve.
I hope that helps!

Hello Michael, Thank you for the question. If your old water tubing has brass nuts at the end, then all you would have to do is cut those brass nuts off and push the tubing into the new quick connect port on the new valve. I hope that helps!

I have a minor water leak from my water dispensers tube. I see that this model has a single valve solenoid at the bottom and a double valve solenoid up at the ice maker. I need to replace a solenoid but which one? Does the single feed the double and then from there it feeds both the ice maker and the water dispenser?
For model number Kenmore 106.71202100 Refrigerator
Hi Larry,
Thank you for your question. If the water dispenser tube is leaking, then I would replace the water inlet valve for the water dispenser. The part number for it is PS11755669. I hope this helps. Thank you and have a great day!
