We have an error code F3. What does that mean and does the replacement control assemby fix that? How to uninstall old and reinstall new one.
For model number CVM1790SS1SS
Hello Denise, thanks for asking us. F3 errors in a GE microwave often indicate there are foreign substances around the touch button panel or the board itself. This could be dirt, dust, moisture, etc. First, always unplug your microwave before servicing! Release the grille by unscrewing screws on the top of the microwave, open the door to remove the upper grille inside it. This will expose control panel mounting screws. Unscrew those and lift to detach the panel from the microwave. Behind the panel, unclip the wiring harnesses from the board. Reverse this process to install the new board and control panel assembly. We hope this helps. Good luck with your repair!
