Whirlpool EveryDrop6 Refrigerator Water Filter Specifications

This part is accessed from the front of the appliance in the bottom left-hand corner in top-freezer refrigerators. It is white in color and measures 1-1/8 inches deep, 2-1/8 wide and 10-1/2 inches high. It filters contaminants such as lead, benzene, mercury, and more. It is recommended that the filter be changed every 6 months to maximize performance. This filter is sold individually.

I changed the filter

I changed the filter. With a wrench I turned the old filter counterclockwise to remove. I then proceeded to insert the new filter and turn it clockwise. That’s it.

Basic Filter Water Replacement

First I located the filter on the the unit, (luckily it was right up front so I didn't have to move the unit), then I placed a towel down under where the filter would travel when it was removed from the unit, just to catch the water that was still in the filter itself, (no need to turn the water off at the valve for this particular unit) ...
