Sample Model Number Tags
Model numbers can be made up of numbers (1005400, for example) or a combination of letters and numbers (LAT1000AAE). The model number will most likely appear on either a paper sticker or a metal plate. Your appliance's model number tag may look similar to the sample model number tags shown here (model number highlighted in yellow):
This stainless steel dishwasher outer door panel forms the front exterior of the appliance, providing protection for internal components while delivering a clean, finished appearance. Designed for a secure, precise fit, it also supports the mounting of the handle and control panel, making it an ideal replacement for a door that is damaged, worn, or cosmetically compromised.
How Buying OEM Parts Can Save You Time and Money
Why buy the real thing?
OEM stands for Original Equipment Manufacturer. Simply put, this means that the company who made your appliance is also supplying the replacement part for it.

Verified Purchase
Perfect Fit
The color of the part on the website did not look like it was stainless. I read a comment under the part that confirmed it was actually stainless, so I rolled the dice and made the purchase. The part arrived around 5 business days later as expected. Opened the box and confirmed it was indeed stainless!
Installed the new part in like 5 minutes. It was very easy. Took off 8 screws. Removed old cover. Replaced insulation. Reinstalled the new part and 8 screws. Done.

The place where you place your hand to pull open the door, cracked. When I look at your parts list it does not show a replacement or how to fix/replace. I wonder if it can be fixed, what part, how much and if there is an instruction sheet
For model number SHS5AVF5UC-01
Hello Kenneth, thank you for your query. The door handle for your model is not sold separately. You may have to replace the complete control panel, part number PS11724807, to fix the issue. We have found some relevant instructions for you to replace the control panel. They may not be of the exact same model, but they will help you with the process. You may follow the following steps: open the dishwasher door and remove the screws securing the outer door panel. Close the door securely and pull the outer door panel down to remove it. Next, remove the screws on the inner door panel securing the control panel and pull the control panel off. Note the orientation of the wires connected to the control board and disconnect them. Now, use a flathead screwdriver to depress one of the mounting tabs to release the old control board from its support. Follow the steps backwards to install the new control panel. Good luck with your repair!
