Featuring the reliability and quality you expect from GE, this defrost heater is a crucial component for your refrigerator. Designed to melt the frost from the evaporator fins during your refrigerator's automatic defrost cycle, it helps to maintain optimal function and efficiency. Please ensure that perishable food is safely stored, as the power will need to be disconnected prior to installment. We also recommend wearing work gloves during the installation process to protect your hands. Buy with confidence knowing that you're getting a genuine GE heater defrost assembly. Enjoy the improved functionality and efficiency that your refrigerator will experience with this installation.

Replacing the defrost heater
For model number GTE18GMHBRES
Hi Susan, thank you for your question. We have a video here that will show you the steps on how to replace parts like this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DTDJYrvrQjs. You should be able to apply them to your own fridge there. I hope that helps. Good luck with your repair.
