Intermittent ice flow
Very Intuitive.
Removed ice cube holder.
Removed all visible screws or fasteners paying attention to size, length and location.
With wiring and connectors exposed, I disconnected those and was now ready to install new ice maker in reverse order.
Once reassembled it took approximately 2 hrs to start making ice.
I found part installation to be really quiet easy.

Ice Maker Quit Making Ice
For this model the ice maker is very easy to replace. All it takes is a phillips head screwdriver. There are two wire connections you have to unplug. Easy out easy in. You do not have to disconnect the water line, just make sure the line is lined up correctly when you reinstall the new icemaker. It seems to take approximately 8 hours before you start getting ice again. If you have this same model, you already know this ice maker is very slow in making ice and is not able to keep up with daily usage of ice for a household of 3.

Water leaking into and behind the right side of the ice bin. Freezes it up and to the fridge. Makes ice fine. Just have to hold hair dryer on it to get it loose
For model number 79574023411

Hello Tonya, thank you for your question. There could be a few reasons this could be happening. The fill valve and cup may not be aligned, your fridge or ice maker might not be level, or the condensation drains could be backed up. We hope this helps!

The ice maker will make ice, but only dispense them when i reboot the system.

Hello Jim, thank you for writing. If your ice maker will not make ice, it could indicate either a faulty Water Valve Assembly part PS3618979 or the Ice Maker Assembly itself, part PS10063167 for your model. We hope this helps.

Water leaking behind the ice maker. Ice maker working but water leaking behind the panel close to the water hose ends at the ice maker left door of refrigerator. I removed the ice maker and defrosted the ice buildup, plugged it back in and the ice maker produced ice in the tray but water was leaking behind the panel. Any suggestions, replace the hose?

Water leaks out of ice maker when it is filling. Is there anyway to limit or adjust water level.
For model number 79574023411
PartSelect logo
Hello Jeffery, Thank you for the question. If the Ice Maker is overfilling, the Water Inlet Valve may not be closing properly and causing it to overfill. The Valve can also be tested. Set your multitester to the R X 1 ohms setting to test for continuity. Place each of the multitester's leads on a terminal. Your multitester should display a reading between 200 and 500 ohms. Closely examine your water inlet valve. The exact ohm resistance rating you should test for may be marked on the valve. We hope this helps!

The bottom ice maker doesn't make much ice. It mostly just fills the hopper with water. Then the bottom hopper is a solid block ice. The upper ice maker doesn't make ice any more. I have remove the upper ice maker and defrosted it and it still wont make ice.

Hi Ryan, Thank you for your question. If your ice maker isn't producing ice at all or is producing crescents or cubes that are smaller than usual, it's typically indicative of a clog somewhere along the supply line. A common cause for a clog is frozen water in the line. To repair a frozen line, slide the refrigerator and unplug it. Locate the shut-off valve, typically underneath the sink or behind the refrigerator. Turn the valve to the closed or off position. Fill a turkey baster with warm water and pour the water over the water line. Alternatively, you can defrost the water line with a hair dryer or by letting the refrigerator sit unplugged for upward of two hours. Restore power to the refrigerator and listen for the water supply to fill the ice mold. If the clog is anything but translucent, consult with a professional for help removing the clog. There is also a possibility that the water filter for the ice maker is clogged. Locate and replace the water filter. Filters for ice makers are typically located inside the refrigerator to keep them from freezing. If your ice maker is not making ice and there is ice build up in the refrigerator, please ensure that the freezer door is closed securely after each time you use it. Even if you are just using the fresh food compartment, check the freezer door while you are there. When doors are left partially open, (even a crack), warm moisture laden air is sucked into the refrigerator and then condenses on cold surfaces, such as the evaporator, and everywhere in the freezer. This causes the internal air flow to be restricted and temperatures will rise. At the same time, the ice maker moving parts will freeze up and ultimately fail. Here is a link from our website that you may reference if this is not the cause of the ice maker not making ice, https://www.partselect.com/Repair/Refrigerator/Not-Making-Ice/. We hope this helps. Thank you and have a great day.

My ice maker only makes ice every few days. Water from the cold water dispenser appears normal. I saw on the web site someone with a similar problem you indicated it could be the water valve or the ice maker itself. Is there an easy way to test which it is, other than replacing both?
