There is no number after W so not sure if this is the right model #. Anyway. One burner gets extremely red and overheats when on low heat. What can be done to correct this?

Hi Steve,
Thank you for your question. If you set the element to a low heat setting and it goes to a higher heat setting, the switch that controls the burner is likely malfunctioning and it will need to be replaced. You will need to test it for continuity with a multimeter on the Rx1 setting to see if it is operating normally. Before removing and checking the burner switch, unplug the range from the electrical outlet. Touch the multimeter's probes to the L1 and H1 terminals with the probes. Once you have completed that test, touch the probes to the L2 & H2 terminals. If your test results indicate that there is no continuity between one or both sets of terminals, you need a replacement infinite switch. We hope this helps!
