2012 with lower drawer freezer Ice building up under lower drawer, to the point the drawer will not close unless I break up the ice. This occurs every few weeks. Is the drain plugged or is there a heater for the drain. I prefer to buy parts before I take this apart

Hi Forrest, thank you for your inquiry. Yes, the recurring ice buildup under your freezer drawer suggests a clogged defrost drain, or a weak or a faulty heater. To fix it, you'll need to perform a manual defrost, remove the freezer's rear panel to access the evaporator coils and drain. Then clear the clogged drain line by melting the ice with a hairdryer or using hot water via a turkey baster, and then flush it to ensure it's clear. If this does not help, the defrost heater, part number PS11754723, might be faulty or not working properly to melt the ice buildup. Glad to be of help!
Hello Lyle, thank you for your question. The Defrost control is actually all inclusive of the Electronic Control Board PS12346593. This part is located on the back of the unit sealed in a plastic housing. Good luck with your repair.

I ordered the parts and they were there in less time than a service tech could come out and i installed the parts and guess what for 90.00 in parts and 15 minutes in time I repaired my refrigerator. The reason I repaired it myself was because the repairman that diagnosed the problem.didn't come back in two weeks. Removed the fan blade from fan motor,which was press fitted on,then removed fan motor from bracket assembly(make sure and retain the two vibration rubber washers on back and front of motor. Reinstall new motor with vibration washers and press fan blade on new motor. Install in bracket assemble and reassemnble.
I used a flat-head screwdriver to pop out the old light rocker switch. Then, I unplugged the wires, plugged them into the new light rocker switch, and then popped the new switch into the hole. That's it! Lights began working again.
