Dishwasher will not start. The start light and washing light are blinking and I hear no noise whatsoever. I can hit the drain button and that light will start blinking and I can just hear a very faint click sound that coincides with the flashing of the light. Thank you for any advice you can offer.

Hello Bill, Thank you for the question. We suggest testing the Door Latch, PartSelect Number PS8770043 with a multi meter to check for continuity. If defective it can not tell the controls the door is closed and to start. We hope this helps.
The dishwasher was leaking from the water intertake hose to the copper screw on fitting. I tightened both the hose connect to the fitting and the copper scre-on coupling to the plastic threaded intake pipe. It appeared to stop dripping but need to run dishwasher again to make sure that is the case. Should I replace some parts? Not sure of age of this dishwasher (can you tell me) and whether it is just time to replace versus trying to fix it. Thank you

Hi Steven, it would be a lot cheaper to just replace the hose/clamp if that is the only issue you are having. This machine seems to be made in 2011. Thank you for your question and good luck with your repair!
I did not have a multi-meter available, so I simply disconnected the clip that had two purple wires into the side of the switch. I shorted out the two wires and unfortunately the problem did not resolve.

Thank you for contacting us back. When a dishwasher fails to start it usually is the door latch that fixes the issue the majority of the time. If the wires that connect to the switch have shorted, they will need to be replaced. The part number listed under your model number for the wiring harness is PS11756725. We hope this helps. My refrigerator freezer is not cooling. Beef inside fan is running. The compressor is not running. The condenser fan motor is not running. This unit has a hard start capacitor attached to the compressor and i was able to determine that there is no power getting to the capacitor. I disconnected the power leads that feed the capacitor and there is no reading with my multimeter from the two leads that attach to the capacitor.

Hi Bill,
Thank you for your question. If there is no power getting to the capacitor, it may need to be replaced. To test it, set your multi-meter to the Rx1 setting and place the probes onto the terminals of the overload capacitor and/or the relay-start capacitor. The reading you should receive will vary from model to model, and may be indicated on the outside of the capacitor, or in your owner’s manual.
If your test does not produce the reading the manufacturer recommends, you need a replacement overload or relay-start capacitor. If your tests do produce the recommended readings you may have a defective compressor, which will need to be tested by a qualified professional as it is a live circuit test. Depending on the model of refrigerator you have, if your refrigerator is too warm, you will also need to check the cold control or temperature control, the evaporator fan motor, the electronic control board, the temperature sensor or thermistor, the defrost timer, the defrost thermostat, the defrost heater and the condenser fan motor. Pulled dishwasher from under counter, attached link to spring, hooked spring back into frame/chassis, threaded link through pulleys, attached other end of link onto door, reinstalled dishwasher under counter. All's well. Note-I purchased an extra link anticipating that the other one will fail. They're cheap enough.
Caviat: The actual repair is less than 15 minutes, but I spent a lot of time playing with it before I figured out it was that easy and fast. You don't need to remove the dishwasher from the counter to do this. And it will probably help to look at the new part closely so you can understand where the retainer clip is to press it and release

First remove the water from the dishwasher pan that would not drain with a wet/dry vac. Otherwise the water will all drain on the floor when you remove the pump. Then remove the two screws on the kickplate on the front of the unit below the door. Remove the kickplate/maintainence access cover. The drain pump is on the right about 8 inches in. Using two hands you grasp the drain pump with your right hand and use the left hand to push the retaining clip down. Then the drain pump will rotate 1/4 turn counterclockwise and can be removed without pulling the dishwasher out. There is likely to be some water leak out that was traped in the pump housing that you can not reach with the vac. Disconnect the wire. Connect the wire to the new pump, put it in place and 1/4 turn clockwise to install it. Replace the kickplate and you're done.

4. There is a spring and nylon rope link on both sides of the unit. Probably just one link is broken, but the replacement comes with two, so you can replace both or save one as a spare. Look at the good side and it should be pretty self explanatory how it attaches. I found it easiest to first thread the link around the lower pulley, then attach the link to the spring, then spring to the rear support, then the link to the door.
