ignitor glowed but did not ignite
took oven base plate out. diconnected ignitor , put new clips on neutral wire as per instructions, inserted new ignitor, put everything back, worked ok.

pre- igniter went bad. No spark
The trick with any appliance is to remove all the extras,before you get to the problem.Considering that it has electricity, the first step was to turn it off.
After that it was a matter of removing the top burners,range knobs and locate the panel screws that secure it to the stove.Locate the part,remember the colors of where the wire ... Read more s go,remove,replace wires,replace new part with wires,slide into place, and reassemble.
Turn on electriciy and Tada. Success.

Igniter turned red but oven would not light
Remove broiler pan, disconnect wires from igniter to gas safety valve and connection in back corner of stove, under a metal plate held in with one screw. Remove two screws holding igniter in and take it out. With new igniter, cut neutral wire as per instructions with it, attach electrical clips to the wire ends, install the new igniter wi

th the two screws, plug in the two wire clips to the safety valve just below the igniter and plug in the plastic clip with both wires going into it over in the corner of the stove, and replace the cover over that connection with the one screw, which you removed at the beginning of this process, and you're done.
