One video showed simply putting a screwdriver in the notch behind trimmer head and unscrewing complete head. Mine of course was slightly more involved but still qui

Old curved shaft for Ryobi had seized-up and wouldn't turn
I have been using string trimmers for over 40 years now, doing the grounds work at a small motel, and this is the best combination I have found!

To correct this, I use the Oregon brand Gatorhead, which fits on the Ryobi with no modiification (easy) and the line comes in spiral discs which can work for either direction of trimmer head to dispense effortlessly. Now, I have a new curved shaft on a new trimmer with the head turning in the clockwise direction.
This item has been discontinued, so get it when you find one, and stock up on line discs too!
