RO-10A Amana Microwave - Instructions

Using a flat-head screw driver, I removed the 1 screw from the small "door" on the back, upper right corner. Once the screw was removed, it allowed the door plate to "pop" open; exposing the old bulb. I removed the old bulb; replaced it with the new one. DONE!

There was nothing to actually, I just put in the bottom of the oven and cooked my sausage about 40 seconds later there is a loud POP and that's it. End of repair, end of breakfast, end of oven. I am returning the glass tray to you and asking for a refund. It was less expensive to go buy a new oven then to have that 30 year old repaired!

It was fairly easy a few tight spaces to reach in but all in all it was pretty straight forward

Screwed the new “$40” dollar light bulb back into the recessed socket. The new bulb is much smaller that the original bulb and much harder to get fingers into small area where the bulb went. After several try’s, I got it in.

My Dearest One removed the screws that held the part that covers the bulb; removed the old bulb, put in the new bulb and replaced the cover.
The whole operation took less than 5 mins.

removed cover of microwave, replaced fuse checked for short at plug with volt ohm meter, there was a short at the plug then checked magnetron for short and there was a short at the magnetron, the cap and diode checked good.

I disconnected the drive belt from the motor and ran the motor to isolate it from the rest of the mechanisms. This was the noise. I disconnected the water lines and electrical cord,laid the machine front down. I disconnected the motor plug,removed the two bracket to body bolts and lifted the motor out to the bench. I then transferred the bracket to the new motor and reversed the procedure to install the motor. The most difficult part was raising the machine back up alone,I suggest a helper.
