Can the control knobs be removed for cleaning? They do not seem to want to pop off, I don't want to force or break them, are they fixed and not meant to be removed? Thanks in advance..

Removed the two screws put the heat shield off the old one onto the new one put new bottom in and tightened two screws. Done #38. 69 Cost of part with shipping cost included.
