Inside of refrigerator is developing frost and leaking into bottom draw.
For model number RF260BEAESR
PartSelect logo
Hi Rebecca, Thank you for your question. If there is a frost buildup, that indicates that there is moisture getting inside the refrigerator. Check the door gaskets to see if they are sealing correctly. If they are not, then they will have to be replaced. You will also need to check the defrost heater and the defrost thermostat with a multimeter to see if they are working correctly. If there is water pooling under the bottom drawer, the drain may be clogged with debris. As the refrigerator goes through the freeze/thaw cycle, water that has melted from the coils will go down this drain. If there is something clogging the drain, then water will pool and freeze. As more water flows down it will pool under the drawer and then leak out from the door. You will need to inspect and clean the drain if it is clogged. We hope this helps! Good luck with the repair!

Evaporator frozen (refrigrator section) and allowing top section to lose cooling
This is the Samsung French door refrigerator style that so many people have complained about freezing up and not cooling the top section. I first changed out the defrost thermostat and this did not correct the problem. I done a quick resistance check on the temp sensor that's mounted on the evaporator itself. The resistance would change when holding an ice cube on the sensor so I just assumed it was ok. PLEASE TAKE NOTE: When performing a resistance check on this sensor, make sure your readings match the Samsung temp/resistance chart in their literature. My sensor was way off calibration and was causing the freeze up. Its working as designed now and DW is happy again. Learn from my mistake.

Refrigerator was freezing food on the bottom shelves
It was simple. I pulled out the old seal from the track it was tucked in and put the new one in using a wood spatula to help along the folding part of the door that fits behind the other door. I replaced both seals under 15 minutes. I am a 63 year old female so I know if I can do it so can you!
Tip: make sure that you line up the top and bottom and from side to side evenly before you start pressing it into the track.
Refrigerator is working properly now.
