... Read moremy part. After speaking to a customer service person who said I could return the part if it didn't fit, I ordered. It was delivered in two days and fit like a glove. So if you still have this older unit air conditioner that still works and you want to use it a little longer, PartSelect knob #BT3075631 will replace Whirlpool knob part #1167617. Cosmetically, it's a little bigger on the outside but fits and works nicely.
I accidently broke the knob on our air conditioner. I unplugged the unit and removed the broken pieces and made sure that the actual on-off switch was not broken.
