Hi, my stovetop hot light continues to stay on even if the stove has been off for hours and the top is not hot. What part can I purchase to fix this issue?
For model number PP9830DJ1BB
Hello and thank you for writing.
There's a bi-metal thermostat in the part of the element where the wires connect. It's part of the glass tube in the center of the element. When it reaches its set temperature it closes and completes the circuit to the light and it turns on. When you turn the element off the thermostat remains closed until it cools to the set temperature and opens breaking the circuit to the light and it turns off. Yours indicator light PS237434 might be faulty and/or possibly a malfunctioning harness PS3496797, you should check the part(s) for signs of damage, and replace it as necessary. We hope this helps. Please contact us anytime if you require further assistance.

9" Radiant Element did not heat up.
I started by Unscrewing the range top. 2 small screws. I took off the old piece by unclipping the piece . Then I color coded each wire so that I would know exactly where I would place the wires for the new part. 30 min maximum time spent changing the part. Please don't forget to unplug the range before you start.

Small radiant wasn't working but large was.
Ordered the dual replacement. I am 76 so I had someone else do it. It took him about 15 minutes. Just pulled the oven forward about 8" so he could lift the top up. 2 Screws to release the top. Then just removed the part and plugged in the replacement. Rescrewed the top screws and pushed the oven back.
