String keeps breaking off. Think it’s releasing by it self to much
For model number P2003
Hi Laura, thank you for the question. Based on our understanding of the issue, we would suggest you check the compression spring, part number PS9996272, as it has most likely worn out or lost its tension. If it is faulty, you may need to replace it. We hope this helps!

How to remove the entire string assembly from the trimmer
For model number P2003VNM
Hi Ed, thank you for your inquiry. Take out the battery pack from the trimmer to ensure your safety while performing the removal. The string head, is the part that holds the spool and the cutting line. You'll find a plastic retainer or clip that holds the spool in place. Release this retainer by pushing it or sliding it. Gently pull out the spool from the string head. You may need to wiggle it a bit to dislodge it. With the spool removed, you should be able to pull out the entire string assembly, including the spool cap, from the trimmer head. Glad to be of help!
