Touch controls - some would not activate
Turn off circuit breaker to cooktop.
Disconnect wires at junction box under the unit, making note of the color matching.
Gently remove cooktop from cutout and flip over, glass down, on a flat, soft, padded surface to protect the glass (I used placemats).
Remove the Philips screws around the perimeter of the sheet metal ass ... Read more embly enclosure box.
Lift the box straight up, revealing the inner assembly.
Look for the long, narrow PCBA (printed circuit board assembly) that is behind the touch controls.
Disconnect the snap-on electrical connector from the PCBA.
Gently nudge the small plastic clips at the edge of the PCBA to release it from its seating.
Install the new board in its place -- it should just snap into place.
Reconnect the electrical connector to the board, making sure it is properly aligned.
Replace the metal assembly cover and secure with the original screws.
Gently flip the cooktop over and lower straight down into the counter cutout.
Reattach the power wiring at the junction box and cover it with the j-box plate.
Turn on the circuit breaker.
Done!
