Hi James, thank you for getting in touch. Based on our understanding, we would suggest checking the control board, part number PS16226987. It manages the washer's functions such as filling, washing, draining and spinning. You may need to replace it to fix the issue. We hope this sorts out your problem!

Hi. I have a Maytag top loader mvwp576kw1. When the machine is on the wash cycle it makes a terrible grinding noise. But only on the wash cycle. When it gets to rinse and spin there is no noise. Only on the wash cycle when the agitator is being used. I moved the agitator by hand after the wash cycle and it is moving well. I do not hear any grinding sounds when I move the agitator with my hands. I haven’t yet looked underneath the machine and I’m very mechanically inclined seeing as I repair work for a living. What could the issue be. Could it be the bearings? Or could it be the pulley system that is bad? I would like to keep this work in house if I can just be given some direction on what the possible causes may be for the loud grinding noise on the wash cycle. The machine works for now but that noise is very concerning. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks

Hi Fabián, thank you for asking. Based on the description that you have provided, we would recommend checking the drive pulley kit, part number PS10057144, to fix the issue. A worn-out drum bearing or broken drive pulley usually causes a grinding or rumbling sound when the drum spins. We hope this sorts out your problem!

I was able to put the hub in place and screw the screws in. you want to tighten them down slowly and go around to each screw tightening a little at a time so you don't break the hub. as you tighten the screws down the hub slides down flush. its impossible to just push the hub on with your hand. This product comes in a bottle with a brush like Liquid Paper. It goes on incredibly easy. A second coat might be needed. I wanted to prevent rust from setting in so I covered the scratches and dings. The paint is a little brighter since my washer is 10 years old but it still looks great.
