My Maytag Atlantis will not drain. It runs through all the cycles but doesn't run through all the cycles. It stays full of soapy water. I have to go back and put it on rinse and spin before it drains. It does agitate but fills up and that's it.

Thank you for your question. If your washer will not drain, there are some parts that you will need to check to see which one is causing the issue. You will need to check the drain pump, the drain hose, the lid switch, the timer and the motor. Once you have determined the part you need, please feel free to call customer service. The selected dial in the normal wash doesn’t start when selected. I have select heavy to get it to start. Then today spin cycle didn’t in the first try, I had to reset it in the rinse cycle to finish.
Is it the knob I have to change?

Hi Terry, thank you for your inquiry. Before replacing the knob, we would recommend checking the timer, part number PS11739434, to fix the issue. The timer controls most of the operations of the washer, such as water level, tub filling and emptying, length of cycles, and cycle setting sequences. We hope this solves your problem!

My Maytag Atlantis washer vibrates violently on spin. It has springs on the tub and not balancing rods. What can I check?

Violent vibration during the spin cycle is most commonly caused by worn-out suspension springs, part number PS11738823, that needs to be replaced. The suspension springs hold the tub in place. As the machine ages, these springs can break or lose their tension, causing the tub to move excessively. We hope this solves your problem!
Lay washer on front, removed belt. Removed center pulley with thrust bearing (pulley was worn on upper end, against thrust bearing, thrust bearing was worn also). Installed new thrust bearing & pulley kit. Cleaned & lubed slots that motor insulators slide in, installed new belt.
Unlug the AC cord,open the top from the front it snaps open with a little force and hinges on the back, remove the 2 screws on the front cover and take it off, tip the washer and remove the belt, take off the pump hose from the back (I removed the back cover also) and the little hose going to the basket. Remove the 6 springs and lift the
... Read morecomplete drum out of the waser and turn it upside down. You can see the plastic snubber ring that is worn, loosen the 6 screws just enough to get the old ring out and the new one in. WARNING (DO NOT TAKE THE SCREWS ALL THE WAY OUT OR THE BRAKE ASSEMBLY WILL RELEASE AND A SPECIAL TOOL IS NEEDED TO PUT IT BACK) Install the new ring, tighten the screws and put the tub back in connecting everything back up and use the 6 new springs. It really isn't that hard to do.
