It spins fine for like 6 seconds than struggles and than does a click sound and turns off and it starts smoking at the motor and there's a lot of shavings from the belt on the floor
For model number MAV6057AWQ
Hello Hector, thank you for your inquiry. It may be that either the pump PS11741799 is locked, the transmission is locked. First, remove the belts from the pump and transmission. Then, start the motor in spin and see if it turns. Next. try to agitate. You should be able to turn the pulley with both hands. If too hard to turn, it may be the pump. We hope this helps.

complete drum out of the waser and turn it upside down. You can see the plastic snubber ring that is worn, loosen the 6 screws just enough to get the old ring out and the new one in. WARNING (DO NOT TAKE THE SCREWS ALL THE WAY OUT OR THE BRAKE ASSEMBLY WILL RELEASE AND A SPECIAL TOOL IS NEEDED TO PUT IT BACK) Install the new ring, tighten the screws and put the tub back in connecting everything back up and use the 6 new springs. It really isn't that hard to do.
