The ice maker motor makes a loud noise. Water gets between the cover and the wall of the freezer and after it freezes it begins making the noise,My husband has taken the cover loose and thawed the ice several times. Hello Brenda, thank you for your inquiry. The water filter is located at the top right side of the refrigerator compartment. Turn off the ice maker. Remove the filter by pushing on the end/face of the filter. Slide the old water filter cartridge straight out of the housing and discard it. Slide it gently into the filter housing until it stops against the snap-in connector at the back of the housing. Push firmly until the cartridge snaps into place. You should hear a click as the cartridge engages the snap-in connector. If this does not solve the issue, you may need to replace the water filter housing, part number PS8689210, to fix the issue. Glad to be of help!
