My disherwasher puts a little bit of water in it, then shuts off. Why?
For model number LFID2426TF4A
Hi Dawn,
Thank you for your question. If the dishwasher is not filling with water, the issue may be with the float, the float switch, or the water inlet valve. Before removing and checking these parts, unplug the dishwasher from the electrical outlet or turn the circuit breaker off. For the float switch, you will need to test it for continuity with a multimeter on the Rx1 setting. When you touch the probes to the terminals, you should receive a reading of zero or infinity. Then, with the probes still touching the terminals, press in on the switch’s button, this should change the reading to the opposite extreme (from zero to infinity or infinity to zero). If your test results produce readings that differ from the above, you will need a replacement float switch. For the float, remove the cover and lift and drop it a couple of times to see if it moves freely. If it does not, remove any objects that might be interfering with it and inspect it for damage and wear. Then remove the lower access panel to determine if the float is mechanically engaging with the float switch. If you find any issues while performing this inspection, you will need a replacement float. For the water inlet valve, look any signs of damage, wear, or cracking. If your valve shows any of these signs, you will need a replacement water inlet valve. We hope this helps!

Only 2 1/2 years old. Runs but no water will come in.
For model number LFID2426TF4A
Hi Leann, thank you for reaching out. First, make sure your dishwasher does not have an incorrectly positioned drain hose and the water supply is turned on. Confirm the door is fully closed; the dishwasher will not fill the water with the door open. Remove anything that is obstructing the door. If this does not help, we recommend replacing the float switch, part number PS3492842. Glad to be of help!

Water leaking under the dishwasher
I looked under and found that 2 brass nuts that secured the heater element through the base housing of the dishwasher has split down each side of the nut and no longer was tight enough to keep water from leaking around either end of the heater element. I powered down the dishwasher at the circuit breaker and then reached under the dishwa

sher and pulled away the 2 wires that were attached to each side of the heater element. I removed the two nuts and replaced them with the parts I ordered from partselect.com. I then put the appropriate wires back at the end of the heater element and ran the dishwasher to check for leaks. No leaks... it was fixed.
