The refrigerator works fine. The freezer is too warm; adjusted setting to -5 degrees F. Food is spoiling.

Hi Renee, thank you for contacting us. We have researched the model and would suggest checking the defrost thermostat, part number PS11750673, for continuity using a multimeter. The function of the defrost thermostat is to clip onto the evaporator and protect your evaporator from overheating during the defrost cycle. A faulty defrost thermostat might cause the freezer section to overheat. We hope this information helps!
I knew the chances of all the freon leaking out was unlikely so I looked at the wiring to the compressor and there was a capacitor and a starter/overload so i figured I would start there. I ordered the parts and they were there in less time than a service tech could come out and i installed the parts and guess what for 90.00 in parts and 15 minutes in time I repaired my refrigerator. Thanks guys, It took less time to order the parts than it did to make the repair so thanks, your website rocks and is very well designed so my hat is off to you guys!
First I shut the water off to the refrigerator.then i pushed the big button in the middle of the grille below the refrigerator door. pulled out the old filter, took the front cap off the old filter put it on the new filter. took the two red caps off the new filter. pushed the filter in till it locked in place. all done!
