What gasket would I order for the French doors of my Kitchen Aid fridge

Our almost 10 year old fridge which we love just heated up one day and when the breaker was turned off and restarted the same thing happened. Is this repairable or do we need a new fridge??

Hello Marian, thank you for your question. When you are having temperature problems in your fridge, there are a few parts that could cause the issue. You can use a multi meter to test these parts. Make sure you cut power to your appliance before doing any repairs or tests. First you should test your defrost thermostat, part number: PS11749348. Place the thermostat in ice cold water for 2-3 minutes after removing it from your appliance. It should be reading 0 ohms to be working correctly. Another part to check would be your defrost heater, part number: PS11723183. Remove it from the appliance. It should be reading anywhere between 0 - 50 ohms to be working. You could check your Capacitor, part number: PS11757023. Make sure after unplugging your capacitor you release any electrical charge. You can do this with a screwdriver that has an insulated handle. When testing your capacitor set your meter to 1000 ohms. Touch your probes to the terminals on the part. If your meter stays on 0 then your capacitor needs to be replaced. These are the most common parts that cause this issue in your appliance. So, it is suggested you check them first. We hope that helps. Good luck with your repair.

My refrigerator and freezer quit running. We unplugged for 20 mins, thouroughly cleaned coils, made sure inside back wall clear. After plugging in can hear the fan run and every once in a while a click, like something wants to start. It made no noise before this. Could it be the capacitor or ?

Hi Tim, thank you for contacting us. The issue could be with the capacitor. But before replacing it, check the start relay, part number PS11750123. You may need to replace it to fix the issue. We hope this solves your problem!
Pressed in the end of the filter cover, lowered it down part way. Twisted the old filter 1/4 turn and removed it. Set in the sink to drain. Inserted new filter and twisted it to lock. closed cover. Done. Total time @ 1 Minute.

... Read moreing what type of connection held the other two attachment points along the long edge of the icemaker. I did not have repair manual or useful drawing but looked @ PartsDirect pic of side brackets & used a small mirror to confirm that mine were also some sort of "snap in" attachment. Remove icemaker unit by pushing upward and outward on the unit. I takes a good bit of pressure and will pop loose, but be careful not to break attachment bracket from freezer wall. Scavenge shut off bar and wiring harness from old icemaker once you have it out & attach to new one before installing it back in freezer. Again, you might find a mirror useful to align those pesky snap-in brackets with the new unit. Since you probably kept your freezer running while waiting for the part, the plastic snap-ins will be cold and brittle. I warmed them up first by applying a dampened cloth heated in the microwave to make them a little more pliable. A good push of the new unit towards the snap-ins along with some upward force will get it stable. Reattach the metal screw in bracket & connect the wiring harness to rear plug... and don't forget to plug the whole thing back in. It will take awhile for the first batch of cubes dump as the timer may need to cycle completely around to get to the fill cycle... be patient. Dump the first couple of batches of cubes just to make sure you're free of any residue.
removed flap door in front of icemaker...removed 3 screws with bolt heads...removed one additional screw with bolt head and ice unit slid out. I removed motor unit (pops out no screws). Replaced and had ice within 3 hours.
