How to use self clean feature?
For model number JB860SJ3SS
PartSelect logo
Hello Amy, Thank you for your question. Before operating the self-clean cycle, wipe up grease and soils from the oven. Remove all items from the oven other than enameled (dark color) racks. Shiny or silver racks, the meat probe, and any cookware or other items should all be removed from the oven before initiating a self-clean cycle. Close the door. Press the Self Clean pad and a default self-clean time is displayed. The clean time can be changed to any time between 3:00 and 5:00 hours by using the number pads to enter a different time and pressing Start. For heavily soiled ovens, the maximum 5 hour clean time is recommended. If you wish to use the default time, press the Start pad immediately after pressing the Clean pad. The oven will turn off automatically when the self-clean cycle is complete. The door will stay locked until the oven has cooled down. After the oven has cooled down wipe any ash out of the oven. We hope this helps.

CLOCK TIME NEEDS TO BE RESET. THE CLOCK BUTTON AT THE BOTOM OF THE SCREEN WILL NOT RESPOND TO TOUCH
For model number JB860SJ3SS
PartSelect logo
Hello John, thank you for reaching out. The ribbon connector attaching the membrane switches to the circuit board (PCB) is where the problem lies. The ribbon cables are connected by a pressure contact connector mounted on the PCB. This connection method is less than robust. The fix is to pull the ribbon from the connector, clean it carefully with a paper towel and some alcohol, and reconnect it. Replacement is required if the problem persists due to a possibly defective screen or control board, part number PS12716513. Customer service is always available to help you place an order if you are having trouble doing so. Good luck with your repair.

Oven would go in to a F2 Error
Removed six 1/4" hex nuts on rear of oven. Then through front/inside removed a single 1/4" hex nut to actually remove sensor. Unplug sensor connector, remove. Reversed steps, push oven back in place and plugged in. Tested oven function.

Oven was not coming up to temperature
I had to remove the oven from the wall because the sensor plug connction is behind the unit. Two screws hold the sensor inside the oven and then I disconnected the lead and pulled the sensor out from the front. I installed the new sensor, tightened the two screws holding it in and connected the lead. Then reinstalled the oven into the wall. Overall, a very easy repair once you get the oven out.

terminal block melted
The existing terminal block on my Ge oven/Range had melted due to a loose wire causing sparking and starting the plastic casing of the terminal block on fire and melting it, Part select made the part easy to find and had it at my house in 2 days. All I had to do was remove six screws to take the back sheet metal cover off of the oven. Unscrew the terminal connections remove two mounting screws that held the terminal on to the oven body. This was a little trickier than it should have been because the melted plastic had reformed making it very hard to access the mounting screws. i then mounted the new piece and plugged the oven in, it took 15 minutes and was very easy. definitely saved me at-least a $100 for the service call i would have made if finding the part wasn't so convenient
