Unit will not twist apart
For model number GX1S15C
Hello John and thank you for writing.
Sometimes the sump becomes cross-threaded or simply stuck with debris. Try to soak with soapy warm water around the connection the try again to open it using the filter wrench PS311941. We hope this helps. Please contact us anytime if you require further assistance.

O-ring on my under-the-sink water filter had broken
