Will a 3-prong light switch work where the original was a two-prong light switch

How do I replace the light in my freezer and what type of light bulb or fixture does it take? I’ve taken off the plastic piece and there is what looks like a computer board with a tiny little light but it doesn’t look like a bulb that can easily be changed out.

Hello Sherri, Thank you for your inquiry. We show that the model number that you have provided uses a LED light board part# PS11767930. If one bulb is burnt on the board, then you would need to replace the board. To install the new board, first unplug the refrigerator. Disconnect the cover by pulling it down from the back. Disconnect the wire going the light assembly. Then press the tab to remove the light board. To install the new assembly position it over the post and snap it into place. Connect the wire connector and replace the cover. Good luck with your repair.

Freezer won't stay on temperature that I set it in.

If the freezer is not staying on temperature, we would recommend checking the temperature sensor, evaporator fan motor, defrost thermostat, and the control board. Thank you for your question. If the freezer section is too warm and not staying at the set temperature, the issue may be with the temperature sensor. The sensor is a small capsule like device that is protected by a plastic shield and will vary in resistance depending on the temperature. The control board uses this information to turn on the compressor and fan circuits as well as to operate the damper control on some models. If a sensor becomes damaged or defective it may incorrectly signal the control board to turn off the compressor and fans and result in warmer than normal fresh food and freezer temperatures. To verify if the sensor is causing the issue you will need to unplug the refrigerator from the electrical outlet to safely remove and test it. To test the sensor, you will need to first remove it from the freezer and place it in ice water for 5 minutes to bring it to 32 degrees F. Once it has reached 32 degrees F, you will need to test it for continuity with a multimeter on the Rx1 setting. The reading you receive should be 16600 ohms (+/- 5 percent). If you receive a reading outside this range, you will need a replacement temperature sensor or thermistor. We hope this helps!
After replacing the defrost heater, main board and thermistor I still had the same problem. ... Read morehad to cut the 2 wires to the old sensor, crimp the 2 new wires on and snap the new sensor to the clip on the evaporator. Very easy. Make sure you seal the ends of the wire crimps so moisture doesn't get in and corrode the connection.
I went to a GE repair center to explain my problem, the service center reccomended that I have a techinician come out o look at it. $75.00 for the visit and what ever labor and materials wuld cost.
I went on line to see if there were others having this same problem and found that there were many with the same problem.

I tried the most common component and the less expensive one first , the thermostat switch I installed it very easily snipping two wires and attaching the news using wire nuts I used the diagram on this website to pinpoint the component and there has not been a problem since.
I removed two srews from the back panel inside fthe reezer compartment and the two that hold the air manifold/baffle? and pulled the baffle out.
