This is a 12 volt rv unit. The freezer works fine but the fridg doe not work at all. I have completely disconnected power and defrosted for 24 hours but it had not effect. I also disconnected the thermostat control and ‘hot wired’ or bypassed it, but still no cooling in the fridg.

the freezer does not get cold could this be thermostat
For model number GPV10FSNBSB
Hello David, thank you for contacting us. Yes, a faulty thermostat is a possible cause for a freezer that is not getting cold. We would recommend replacing it to fix the issue. The thermostat, part number PS16220188, acts as the control hub, regulating the temperature by turning the compressor and fans on and off. We hope this solves your problem!

THE FRIDGE STAYS COLD THE FREEZER DOES NOT FREEZE IF I BY PASS THE THERMOSTTHE FREEZER WILL FREEZE.I REPLACED THERMOSTAT AND FREEZER DOES NOT FREEZE IS THER A WAY TO TEST THE THERMOSTAT
For model number GPV10FSNBSB
Hi David, thank you for reaching out. Yes, you can test the thermostat using a multimeter to check for electrical continuity. Since bypassing the thermostat makes the freezer work, it strongly suggests an issue with the thermostat or related components. If you get an infinite reading for the thermostat, the thermostat might be faulty. If that is not the issue, you may need to replace the control board, part number PS16220367. A problem with the board or a related relay could be preventing the correct signals from reaching the compressor, even with a working thermostat. We hope this sorts out your problem!

It is not self defrosting what might be the problem
For model number GPV10FSNBSB
Hello Les, thank you for your inquiry. According to our research, your model has a partial automatic defrost feature to indicate that the fresh food section is frost free, and the freezer is manual defrost. The fresh food compartment defrosting takes place automatically every time the refrigerator turns off. If you are facing the defrosting issue in the fresh food section, then you may need to replace the control board, part number PS16220367, to solve the problem. We hope this helps!
