Need to replace freezer light and it’s location

Replaced water filter with GE art XWFE. Water will not dispense with new filter. New filter of course has air in it. It won't fill. I put the original filter back in, it has water in it, and it still works. How do I charge the new filter with water so it will dispense?

Hello Gene, thank you for contacting us. To charge the new water filter with water, follow these steps:
1. Ensure Proper Installation: Make sure the new filter is properly installed. It should be inserted fully and turned clockwise until it is securely in place.
2. Purge Air from the System: Gently grasp the filter and slowly turn it counterclockwise about a ¼ turn to allow air to purge from the system. Once air is purged, turn the filter back clockwise to secure it.
3. Reset the Water Filter Indicator: Press and hold the WATER FILTER buttonfor 3 seconds.
4. Dispense Water: Try dispensing water for a few minutes to allow the filter to fill with water and remove any remaining air. It may take a few moments for the water to start flowing.
If these steps do not resolve the issue, ensure that there are no blockages in the water line and that the water supply is turned on. Glad to be of assistance!

The refrigerator section is freezing everything. Which part may need replacing?

Hi Elizabeth, thank you for reaching out. The issue seems to be with the temperature sensor of the freezer section. Its part number is PS304103. You may need to replace it to fix the issue. We hope this solves your problem!
Don't use ice maker or water dispenser , still have red light on for filter.

Hello Fary, thank you for reaching out. We have researched and found that the water filter must be replaced every 6 months. We would recommend replacing the water filter, part number PS16217433, to fix the issue. Glad to be of help!
I went to a GE repair center to explain my problem, the service center reccomended that I have a techinician come out o look at it. $75.00 for the visit and what ever labor and materials wuld cost.
I went on line to see if there were others having this same problem and found that there were many with the same problem.

I tried the most common component and the less expensive one first , the thermostat switch I installed it very easily snipping two wires and attaching the news using wire nuts I used the diagram on this website to pinpoint the component and there has not been a problem since.

With three wires and no wiring diagram I wasn’t sure this answered all the questions, but hooking the fan to a 12 volt power supply didn’t get it to spin. I priced parts at a couple websites before using partselect.com . They also have a good diagram to look at (Sears diagrams are really poor). I ordered the part with 2-day shipping; it arrived on time, was correct and fixed the problem.
