My refrigerator temperature is set on 38 degrees but it is freezing my raw vegetables. What can I do to correct this problem?
For model number GI7FVCXXY01
PartSelect logo
Hello Amy, thank you for contacting us. First, ensure that the vegetables aren't stored too close to the freezer vent or any cold air outlets, as this could be causing the issue. You might also want to try storing them in a different part of the fridge to see if that makes a difference. Additionally, you could try adjusting the temperature setting on your refrigerator. Although it's already set to 38 degrees, it might be worth trying to raise it by a degree or two to see if that helps. Check the rubber gasket, part number PS11759512, around the door for any cracks, tears, or gaps. A leaky seal causes the fridge to work harder to maintain temperature, which can lead to overcooling in certain areas. We hope this information helps!

Little water coming from dispenser, removed filter. Checked water pressure on line is 65psi
For model number GI7FVCXXY01
PartSelect logo
Hello Edward, Thank you for the question. We suggest checking the Water lines for damage, kinks or blockage such as ice build up. This can slow the water flow to the Dispenser. If all is clear, you may have a faulty Water Inlet Valve. If you need help placing an order, customer service is open 7 days a week. Please feel free to give us a call. We look forward to hearing from you!

Follow up a previous question. Limited water going to dispenser. Removed filter and line pressure going in is 65ps. Open water line on on top of frig. Little water coming out. Is there a valve somewhere before the dispenser that controls water flow. I notice that water also runs longer to fill the ice cube maker. Thanks..
For model number GI7FVCXXY01
PartSelect logo
Hi Edward, Thank you for your question. There are 2 water inlet valves listed for your refrigerator. There is one in the refrigerator section, part number PS11738654, and one for the ice maker, part number PS11751526. You will need to test the valves for continuity with a multimeter to see if they are working correctly. To access the water inlet valve in the refrigerator, you will need to remove the back panel. First, remove the shelves and the water filter cover. Then using a flathead screwdriver, insert it into the holes on the back panel to release the tabs holding the panel in place. Check the water lines as well for damage and to see if they are clogged. If you have any questions, please let us know. We are open 7 days a week. We look forward to hearing from you!

Removing the existing filter by rotating as directed and then dislodging from 'docking' station proved difficult. Turns out, the old filter is under a bit of vacuum pressure and getting the unit to separate or release was a challenge.
I removed the drop-down outer housing by gently prying the sides of the two pivot pins at the rear. This gave me move 'room' to grip and slightly rotate then pull the old filter forward and away from the tight suction connection. I was concerned that I would be too forceful for the plastic assemblies and would break something; deliberate motions and a steady thought process on the problem helped disengage the darned old filter!
