My refrigerator is ice cold inside with sheet of ice in bottom and on wall. I need a replacement heater?
For model number GFSS6KKXASS
Hello Deborah, thank you for contacting us. We would recommend keeping the temperature setting at 38 F for the fridge and -2 F for the refrigerator. Also, ensure that the door seals are good and no warm air is leaking into the refrigerator. If this does not help, the issue is probably related to the thermistor, part number PS966755. It senses the temperature inside the refrigerator and sends information to the electronic control. We would also recommend checking the defrost heater, part number PS2340403, for continuity using a multimeter. If found faulty, it needs to be replaced. We look forward to hearing from you if you need assistance with placing an order through our 7-days-a-week customer service. We hope this helps!

Freezer and fresh food areas not cooling. I need to know room and ice water temperature resistance readings for thermostats, thermistors, starter relay and any other parts that would cause this problem so that i can order the proper parts. I will be happy to place my order with you - i just don't want to waste time ordering the wrong part(s).
For model number GFSS6KKXASS
Hello Marc, Thank you for contacting us. Thermostats should test at infinity at room temperature, and 0 at colder temperatures, thermistors should test around 16600 ohms at 32 degrees F, defrost timers should test at infinity at room temperature, and 0 at colder temperatures, defrost heaters should test at 0 or infinity, overload and start relays can differ from model to model, so you may on the relay or in your owners manual. You can view the information on testing the components with a multimeter on our website under https://www.partselect.com/Repair/Refrigerator/Refrigerator-Freezer-Too-Warm/ Good luck with your repair.

Installation Video Incorrect
The installation video notes that the door mullion spring has a bent end, and that the bent end of the spring is to be inserted into the LOWER hinge. However, on my refrigerator door, the bent end of the door mullion spring must be inserted into the UPPER hinge in order for the door to function properly. (Also noted that in your video t

he installer manually closed the door mullion rather than just closing the refrigerator door, another indication that the installation of the spring was incorrect.) After watching the video several times to confirm I was installing the door mullion spring according to the video instructions, I tried inserting the bent end of the door mullion spring into the upper hinge, which proved to be the correct installation of the door mull spring. What should have been a 5 minute repair turned into an ½ hour repair.
