Can not get water to ice maker to make ice. Ice cube dispenser works fine.

Hi Joe, Thank you for your question. If the ice maker is not making ice, because water is not reaching it, check the water inlet valve. First check for signs of leaks, or loose connectors in the valve inlet supply. If no issues are found, inspect the valve body for any cracks or damage. Inspect the outlet tubing for any brittle tubing, abrasions, cracks, or any other damage. If you do not locate any leaks, disconnect the water inlet valve and remove it from the refrigerator to test it. Set your multimeter to the Rx1 setting and touch the terminals with the probes. You are testing for continuity and should receive a reading of 200 to 500 ohms. If you receive any other reading, you will need a replacement water inlet valve. If the water inlet valve is fine, you will need to check the water fill tubes, the water filter and the ice maker. We hope this helps!

On Oct 23/2024 I ask why I can't get water to the ice maker. Your reply was to check for leaks and connections in the inlet valve. Found no problems. Also check with ohm meter for readings between 200 to 500. Could not remove valve from unit as could not get wiring connecter apart. Put probes on the single inlet valve blades and reading was 394 . Valve was not a double valve. It was where my filtered water was to be attached to the frig. Was not able to find any more valves. What now? Thanks

Hello Joe, Thank you for your inquiry. One water inlet valve, the single one for the water dispenser is at the back of the refrigerator, the other one for the ice maker part# PS6011774 is behind a cover in the ice box where the ice bucket is located. There is a latch on the backside of the door. Remove the two small upper shelves, open the latch and pull the access door open. We have also included a link to our video on testing both the ice maker and water inlet valve as there still could be a solenoid or gear inside the ice maker that is sticking. We hope this helps.

The freezer on this unit is working fine, but the fridge won't go below 45 degrees even though we have it set to 34 and usually have the turbo cool option running. The fan wasn't blowing that hard, so I replaced it as well as the temp sensor in the cooling tower. I still have the same problem. I am thinking that it is likely the control board now. Is there something else that could be causing this issue?

Hello Matthew, Thank you for contacting us. If you have already replaced the temperature sensor and the refrigerator evaporator fan, then we would recommend checking the control board. We hope this helps you.

why after installing a new compacitor and components the compressor still come on and goes all
For model number GFE28GYNGFS
PartSelect logo
Hello Thomas, thank you for contacting us. If your refrigerator compressor briefly hums, turns on, and then immediately shuts down even after you have already replaced the start capacitor and relay components, we would suggest checking the compressor. The internal mechanical pistons or bearings inside the compressor pump may be physically locked up or seized. Replacing the compressor, part number PS11721961, might help fix the issue. Good luck with this repair!

Door not dispensing ice or water, not making ice
Simple repair, rolled refrigerator out, disconnected power, removed 4 screws holding door board, disconnected wire harness, replaced board on bench, returned to refrigerator, plugged in wire harnessing, replaced screws, plugged in, waited about 5 min. Tried door water dispense and it worked. Took a while for ice make to get up to speed, but it also works great.
After have a tech come out to look at, and he said it was freezing inside the door and needed a new door for right at $1,000.00, and nothing seem to indicate that as the problem. We took it on ourselves to try Partselect, ordered several extra parts, but only used the door board, returns went easy and i was refunded my money before I even sent the parts back. Great Service

Loud clicking noise and the temperature was not stable.
Took out the old parts and replaced it with the new parts. The new OVERLOAD PTCR COMBO was different then the one that we replaced so we called customer service and they told us which wire to insert into each of the 2 slots and it is working like new again. Outstanding and knowledgeable customer service.

Fridge keeps cycling on and off and a clicking sound happens every time compressor cycles.
I opened the back panel of the fridge and exposed the compressor. Unplugged existing run capacitor and installed new one with the addition of the sleeve that is stated must be installed around the run capacitor.
Everything I read and on this web site says that based on these symptoms, that the problem is the run capacitor. I searched and search for a part called a start relay which plugs in to the compressor. This run capacitor plugs in to this other part which I take as the start relay.

Installing this run capacitor did not solve the problem. The fridge compressor keeps cycling on and off. Freezer doesn't keep as cold as it should.
