The upper part of this fridge is not as cool as normal but the bottom section of the fridge where the drinks go is so cold it’s starting to freeze. Any ideas? I was thinking evaporator fan myself but wanted to have a second opinion before I purchase parts.

When we dispense ice (both crushed as well as cubes), "Ice Top OFF" lights up to the right of "Ice Maker" on the control/display panel. What does it mean, and what should we do?
For model number GFE28GSKKSS
Hello Mike, thank you for your inquiry. According to our research, for dual icemaker models, tapping the ice maker pad repeatedly will toggle between the on and off options for the ice maker in the fresh food door, or top ice maker, and the ice maker in the freezer drawer, or bottom ice maker, and will show on the display as ice top on or off and ice bottom on or off. If you are getting an ice top-off light, then this means that your fresh food ice maker or top ice maker is turned off. You may need to tap the ice maker pad to turn the ice maker on. We hope this information is useful!

All lights up top are dim - the freezer lights are fine. Not making ice but dispenses water.
For model number GFE28GSKKSS
Hello Tom, thank you for your question. The lights dimming up top may be due to an older Refrigerator LED Light and Cover Assembly PS12172918 that may need to be replaced. Or, it may be the actual switch PS11763930 that may have some oxidation. With respect to the unit not making ice, we suggest replacing the Door Board PS16542831. We look forward to hearing from you.

my refigerator was warm but the freezer was cold and working correcttly
I went to a GE repair center to explain my problem, the service center reccomended that I have a techinician come out o look at it. $75.00 for the visit and what ever labor and materials wuld cost.
I went on line to see if there were others having this same problem and found that there were many with the same problem.

I tried the most common component and the less expensive one first , the thermostat switch I installed it very easily snipping two wires and attaching the news using wire nuts I used the diagram on this website to pinpoint the component and there has not been a problem since.

I snipped the wire in the middle leaving plenty to work with. I shortened the wire on the new piece, spliced the wires together and with some 3M rubberized, tape wr
