. No matter what setting you put it on it takes forever to dry.
For model number GFDR270EH1WW
Hello and thank you for writing.
If the vent is clogged or partially clogged, it will restrict the airflow through the dryer, substantially increasing the drying time. To determine if the blower wheel is working properly, remove the dryer vent and assess the strength of the airflow. If that all checks out ok, your heater PS8756705 might possibly be faulty and needs to be replaced. We hope this helps. Please contact us anytime if you require further assistance.

I have checked the thermal fuse, thermostat , belt switch, thermistor and all are good. Dryer comes on and when you start a cycle the timer counts down and it shows to be drying but the drum is not turning. It is also not giving an error code

Can you tell me how to get either the back or top off dyer it’s making grinding noise and trying to check it out
For model number GFDR270EH1WW
Hi Steve, thank you for the question. For the control panel disassembly, the first thing you do is pull off the knob. Remove this insert and then there's a Torx screw you have to remove. Just insert a screwdriver and pry up. Do the same on the other side. Lifts it off the hinges and you will need to remove the wiring harness. To get the door panel, there are four screws. Once they are out, you just lift and there are hinges at the bottom as well as sliders and the door just slides on those. There are three wires to the door switch sensor that you can unplug, two white on the right and a yellow one that you can unplug. We hope this helps.

Common Symptoms of the GFDR270EH1WW
[Viewing 1 of 1]Keep searches simple. Use keywords, e.g. "leaking", "pump", "broken" or "fit".
Loud banging/thumping noise when dryer was running. Bearings on tub rollers worn out. Poor design.
Could tell from the sound it was making that it was related to drum rotation. Searched online videos on how to disassemble this model GE Dryer. The Dryer drum rides on 4 rollers. 2 of the 4 of mine were very noticeably loose and made a similar noise when I spun them by hand. Simply replace the rollers and re-assembled.
