Hello Paul, thank you for your question. This sounds like an issue with either the Part #: PS10060200
ice/water control module, or the dispenser control board. I hope this helps.

My ice dispenser isn't functioning properly - the solenoid that opens the flap energises then quickly shuts the flap again - everything seems to be in order inside the unit - i have removed it and replaced it several times and can't get it to deliver ice - the ice tray is full and yet the auger doesn't operate - i have checked the door switch, the lever that operates the water and ice switch and the solenoid for continuity, i'm stumped - can i manually call the auger into operation to test it? Any suggestions please.
For model number FPHC2398LF1
Hello Paul, thank you for your question. Based on the replacement of the part you have done, and that you have checked the door switch and solenoid the auger motor itself is probably the issue. The part number is PartSelect Number: PS10057235.
1
Open the freezer door and grab the bottom of the ice bin. Lift up on the front of the bin and pull it from the freezer.
2
Lift the wire shut-off arm to turn off the ice maker, or turn off the power switch on the ice maker.
3
Press the “Ice” button on the dispenser door if your dispenser doesn't have separate ice and water dispenser levers. Push and hold the door switch that controls the freezer light. This switch also allows the ice maker to dispense ice through the door, disengaging the dispenser when the door is open.
4
Push on the ice dispensing lever as you watch the auger motor at the back of the freezer. If the motor jumps slightly, but fails to turn, chances are the motor has failed.
We would recommend testing the micro switch as well. That is PartSelect Number: PS1532720. The dispenser micro switch is a momentary contact switch that when activated it will supply power to the auger motor and the solenoid for the dispenser door. The switch sits behind the pad or lever that is pressed to dispense ice. You will need to remove power to the appliance and then remove the control panel cover to access the switch. You can check the continuity of the switch with a multi-meter.

For model number FPHC2398LF1

water leaking out of refrigerator
In my specific appliance the water valve is located in the bottom right hand corner looking at it from the back. To get to it I remove the thin layer of cardboard the covers the back of the fridge. I then proceeded to disconnect the 1/4" copper tubing which is the water feed coming out of the wall. Then I removed the screws that hold the

valve assembly in place. I took the water valve out and removed the electrical connections as well as the plastic tubing which feed the water dispenser and the ice maker. To install the new water valve it was just a matter of reversing steps.

Support studs were broken
Used pliers to remove the residual broken stud that was still attached to the wall of the refrigerator, and then just pushed the new part in place. The longest time was spent in removing the food and crisper drawers.
