My wife turns the oven on at a low temp 180 degrees and wants it to stay on all night, however she sets it and then sometime later after heating up to 180, the oven shuts off.???????

Hi George, thank you for your inquiry. The oven is shutting off because its safety features are engaging, likely due to an internal issue such as a faulty temperature sensor, part number PS1528542. Our Frigidaire stove works very well except recently if my wife tries to leave except when my wife is drying some food item and desires to dry it overnight. She will set the temp at 170 and it will stay on for several hours but then it turns off on its own sometime at night? I changed the temperature sensor and that didnt help.

It manages all oven functions, including temperature regulation and power. A failing board might shut down the oven prematurely or intermittently, especially when it heats up over time. I am replacing a gas valve that I ordered from partselect.ca
I the process of removing the burner, a couple of the screws holding the burner to the ignator/orifice base sheared flush with the burner top. Is it possible to get these screws spun the base. Or will I have to order a new base assembly. Is there a cost effective solution to this? Once removed will heat loosen the screws? Thanks in advance for any advice. Regards,

Hi Steve,
Thank you for your question. If the oven is not heating correctly, the issue may be with the oven temperature sensor. The oven temperature sensor monitors the oven temperature and signals the electronic control board to turn the elements on and off. Before removing this part from the oven and testing it for continuity with a multimeter on the Rx1 setting, unplug the oven from the electrical outlet. This test needs to be done with the sensor at room temperature to produce accurate results. The reading should be between 1080 and 1100 ohms. If you get any other reading, you need a replacement temperature sensor. If the sensor is fine, you will need to check the igniter, the electronic control board, and the wiring between the parts to see which part is causing the issue. We hope this helps with the repair!
I called a repair place. They charged $54 to diagnose, (said it needed a new latch motor) then wanted $220 to complete the repair. I checked online prices and did it myself for about 15 minutes work and the latch motor itself ($44?).
