The Frigidaire oven the stove microwave latch is designed to fail. The mechanism is operated by the thinnest plastic hook secured to a fairly strong spring. When the hook breaks the latch no longer works so the light stays on and the microwave is inoperable. The hardest part of the repair is removing the door and reinstalling. Instructions are on the internet for the entire repair. Be sure to verify the actual length of the latch as there are several that look exactly alike but are of a different length. A temporary repair can be accomplished by using a small tie wrap and extending the spring to 4.5 cm.
