Cannot change run mode. Ie stays on heavy wash all the time and heated dry. Does it need a a new contact strip? Machine is two years old.

According to our research, if the unit is stuck on heavy wash or heated dry, then there is an issue with the user interface control board, part number PS12585627. However, before replacing it, unplug the dishwasher or flip the circuit breaker off to the dishwasher and use a hair dryer to heat up the user interface control board. Rub your thumb over the heated dry button and wait 5 minutes for it to cool. Now plug the dishwasher back in and see if the issue clears up. If not, then the entire user interface control board would have to be replaced to resolve the issue. Glad to be of assistance!
Frigidaire dishwasher fills with water but then does not start the wash cycle. It fills and then stops. When I hold in the start button for 3 seconds to cancel, dishwasher drains normally. What could cause this?

Based on the description that you have provided, we would recommend checking the following parts: motor and pump assembly, part number PS12712308, and lower spray arm, part number PS12585623. I removed old tub gasket, which the door presses against to make a seal, and put the new one in. Flat tip screwdriver was used to gently press gasket in.
