I have been troubleshooting my dryer on why it won't start. When I turn the start knob I hear the timer start. I checked the door switch and it's working properly as well as checking the start knob. Could I potentially have an issue with the timer selector not working properly or should I be looking elsewhere.

Hi Alexander, Thank you for your question. If the door and start switches are working normally, we would recommend checking the timer and the drive motor. Before removing and checking these parts for continuity with a multimeter on the Rx1 setting, unplug the dryer from the electrical outlet. For the motor, you should receive a reading zero or close to zero. Place one probe on the bare metal housing of the motor, and place the other probe on each terminal one at a time to check the ground connection. You should not receive any reading from this test. If your motor fails either of the tests above, you will need a replacement motor. For the timer, you should receive a reading of 2000-3000 ohms. If you receive any other reading, you will need a replacement timer. We hope this helps!

how does the dryer keep running after you stop it?
For model number DBXR463EB0WW

Hello Willie, thank you for your query. We would recommend checking the timer, part number PS267932, to fix the issue. This timer is used to control the unit's cycles by regulating the length of time that power is directed to each setting. Good luck with your repair!

Heater element went out
First of all, unplug the dryer. I removed the two screws on the front of the cabinet to remove the top. I then took out the screws to remove the dial panel. Release the belt for the drum through the access hole in the rear of the dryer. Remove the front cover and pull the drum assembly out.

Remove the element disc from the rear of the housing, take note of the the wireing placement. Replace disc and reverse order of disassembly.

This job was easy for me as I am a tinkerer by nature. The hardest part of the whole job was waiting on the part, which by the way was ordered on a Sunday evening and I had the replacement in my hands and back in the dryer running by 1:00 PM on the following Tuesday!

I book marked this website and WILL refer it to others who simply need a repair, not a costly new appliance!
