trimmer does not run at full speed ; the line rotates very slowly ,will not cut ; I hear a noise ; similar to a broken gear or loose wheel

Hello Wayne, thank you for contacting us. We would recommend inspecting the drive shaft that is mounted on the motor (part number: PS12090991) and making sure it is rotating fine. In case the shaft on the motor is not rotating it is highly likely that the pinion gear is broken in the motor assembly and the whole assembly needs to be replaced. Also, analyze the throttle cable and the clutch to make sure these parts are not broken or damaged. Please reach out to customer service if you need help placing an order. Glad to be of help!
Hello Albert, thank you for the question. You may need to check the filters and the carburetor. If they are not clogged, then replace the switch, part number PS12091255, to fix the issue. We hope this solves your problem!
