I plug itt in but it will not cut off the switch work but it want cut off

Hi Bernie, thank you for the question. The start switch might be shorted out. Use a multimeter to test the start switch for continuity. If the start switch has continuity all of the time, this indicates that the start switch is shorted out. If the start switch is shorted out, replace it with part number PS391145. Ask my grandson to replace it. He’s a genius. He used hammer to release the disposer circular latch. He then removed the old splash guard and installed the new one. Love him
Part was oversize, as furnished. So, we cut out the central working part and used silicone sealer to install into the disposal throat (above the old guard). Looks great and works like a charm!
