When was this air conditioner manufactured? I am trying to determine how old it is.

To verify the age of your air conditioner, look on the label where you found the model number and in the upper left or right corner or just under the serial number, you will find the month and year (MM/YY) that it was manufactured. The side panels that are attached to the window have splits in them. What are they called? Do you have them in stock.

After calling other parts supply companies with not much help, I found a helpful representative at Parts Select. My unit is very old & not many parts are available, so I asked the rep if she thought just buying a remote control would solve the issue since it was obvious that the whole panel was not broken or unusable.
