143841540 Kenmore Heater - Instructions

Removed the back of the dryer taking off the screws. Found the disposable thermal fuse. Unplugged the 2 blue wires connected to it. Removed the screws holding the part in. Replaced the old part. Reattached the blue wires. Put the back on the dryer. And voila! That simple!
I'm a 39 year old woman with absolutely no patience for tedious jobs, but this was so easy I felt good about doing it. And felt even better for saving lots of money by doing the repair myself.

After the new filter arrived, I took the old filter out, put the newe one in. No tools, no difficulty at all. Actually, the really difficult part of this entire episode was finding the model number on the dryer. It was on the underside of the door.

After unplugging the dryer, I removed the bottom panel in front. Remove the the filter inside the dryer and remove the filter housing below. There you can see the thermal fuse on the air duct, its white with two blue wires. You can check it with a ohmmeter after removing the wires. If its open its bad. Its held in place with two sheet metal screws. After replacing the thermal fuse the dryer worked fine. However I would suggest cleaning the air duct and the outside discharge opening. Hope this helps.

Lint screen on my 30-year dryer was torn. Ordered the new screen here with just the part number, fits well. Very helpful website.

Did an Ohm test on the old Thermal Fuse found it to be bad. Replaced it with a new and the dryer is back to working great. Your suggestions saved approximatley $150.

I didn't think I could find a replacement part because the dryer was so old (it has fake wood paneling!) and I was already considering the cost of a new dryer. I searched online and found this site. I crossed my fingers and placed my order. When it came, I removed what was left of the old lint remover and put in the new one. It was a perfect match. The colors were a bit off but who cares. PartSelect saved me from having to purchase a new dryer. Yay!

We took the screws off of the back, took out the thermal fuse and replaced it with the new one.
We watched a video of how to do it which made it so easy.
Works great!

Exact part needed, fit exactly like original.

Just slipped it in place

turned off the power and removed the back cover, checked the thermal fuse had no continuity. ordered new part. very easy Installed the new thermal fuse,.replaced the cover, turned on the power and worked fine.

Went on-line Chat and described my problem to a very professional and patient representative who requested the necessary information needed to replace my filter. Note: Due to the age of the my dryer, Sears no longer had a replacement. I'm thankful that this site was able to accomodate my need.
The repair, or should I say replacement, was as simple as pulling out the old filter and replacing it with new. Only tools, my two hands.

IT WAS EASY, TOOK OUT THE OLD ONE AND PUT IN THE NEW ONE!! ANY ONE COULD DO IT.

Very easy do it yourself repair, and saved at least $300.00. I watched a video and it took me less than 20 minutes to complete repair. Part fit perfect and I have already ordered another to keep as a spare.

Item not repaired as did not receive my order. I did call the company and they said they would credit my card. Neither they nor the company the wrong order came from seemed interested in my efforts to return the wrong order. I feel this incredibly wasteful,. I would not order from a company with this attitude

I ordered the wrong part. It was pick and choose from the info provided.I checked again and found one that's 58% of the time the part.
